A route you drive or walk yourself, in your own car, on your own day.
The Assembly that votes for war, the British ball on the Ashley, and the swamp the militia hides in. All three of the Charleston locations The Patriot used.
All of them, free to read. Which one is closest right now? The app sorts them as you go. With The Week ›

The Assembly Benjamin Martin argues in front of, and loses.
Randolph Hall, at the head of the Cistern Yard, is where the General Assembly meets to vote on entering the war. The scenes are interiors, so what you are standing in front of is the building rather than the room: the College of Charleston still teaches in it, and the Cistern is the lawn its steps look onto.

The Week does not unlock this route: every stop is free to read here. It guides you through it on the day. Across 45 mi of driving, it keeps the nearest stop next, and the map works with no signal. It covers the other 6 routes as well, so the next one costs you nothing extra.
$9 for 7 days · One payment, nothing renews.
Your seven days start in town, when you press Start the day on a paid route or arrive at one of its stops.
The app is on iPhone November 5. The Week is bought inside it, so there is nothing to pay for until then.

It starts at Cistern Yard, 66 George St, Charleston, SC and ends at Cypress Gardens. The stops are ordered so the route does not double back.
About 2h 30m for 3 stops, covering 45 miles. That is measured driving time plus the time each stop is worth, not the drive alone.
The locations, the order and what was filmed at each are free to read on this page. The Week covers carrying the route in the app, which sorts the stops by how far away you are, tells you when you have arrived while it is open, and keeps its map and photographs when there is no signal.
Not all of them are walk-ups. Middleton Place needs a ticket; Cypress Gardens needs a ticket. The rest are public and free to stand at.

The scene
The militia camp in the swamp, and the last scenes of the film.
The blackwater and the cypress here stand in for the swamp the militia disappears into between raids, and the closing scenes were shot on the same water. It is the fifth major production to use these gardens; the flat-bottomed boat you paddle yourself is the same water at eye level.
