What you are buying, and what you are not

Short, because it is a nine dollar day out rather than a contract anybody should need help reading.

What a pass is

A pass unlocks the app: the stops sorted by how far away you are, told when you have arrived, and the whole of it working with no signal. It does not unlock the locations or the routes, which are free to read on this website whether or not anybody pays. It is one payment. There is no subscription and nothing renews.

The clock starts when you first open the pass, not when you pay for it. Buy it a month before the trip if you like. A pass that has never been opened has not started, and once it has, it runs to its end date whether you use it or not.

A pass belongs to the email address that paid for it. That is how it appears on your phone: sign in there with the same address and it is already yours. It is for you and the people you are travelling with, and not for resale or redistribution.

What stays free

Every location, on this website, with what was filmed there and how to get in. That is not a trial and it does not expire. What is paid for is the day already worked out.

Refunds

If a pass does not do what this site says it does, ask within 14 days and you will have your money back, opened or not. No form and no argument. Contact support and say what happened.

Standing where they shot it, responsibly

Almost everything in this catalogue is a real place that somebody lives in, works in, or looks after. Some of it is a private house whose owner did not ask to be on television.

So: the access note on a stop is what is known about getting there, not permission to be there. Do not enter private property, do not climb anything, and obey every posted sign and anyone whose job it is to tell you where you may stand. Where a stop is a business, it is a business first and a filming location second. You are responsible for your own safety, and for driving the driving routes as though you were driving rather than reading.

What is not promised

Locations are independently researched and cross-checked, and they still go out of date: buildings are sold, businesses close, streets are dug up, and a place that was open last month may be shut when you arrive. Distances and durations are estimates for planning a day, not directions to follow blindly, and the map and arrival notice depend on your own phone’s idea of where it is.

If something here is wrong, tell me and it gets fixed for everyone.

Following a route on the day

The app finds the nearest stop, points you at it and tells you when you have arrived, all from your own phone’s idea of where it is. That is a planning aid, not a navigation system, and it is not designed for emergencies.

YOUR USE OF THIS REAL TIME ROUTE GUIDANCE APPLICATION IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. LOCATION DATA MAY NOT BE ACCURATE.

Which is the formal way of saying what the section above says plainly: drive the driving routes as though you were driving, and trust the road over the screen.

Whose words these are

The routes, the notes, the photographs and the research are Standshot’s. Reading them, using them on a trip and telling people about them is the point. Republishing them as your own product is not.

Film and television titles are referenced to describe what was filmed where. Standshot is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by any studio, network or production company, and their names and trademarks remain theirs.

Your account

You can delete it at any time, from the app or from your account page, and what happens when you do is set out in the privacy policy. An account can be closed from this end for fraud or for reselling passes, which has not happened yet and is written down in case it does.

Who you are buying from

Standshot is made and sold by IberiaTech Solutions LLC, a limited liability company registered in South Carolina and based in Charleston. When these terms say we, that is who they mean, and it is the same company named as the seller wherever the app is listed.

The legal floor

To the extent the law allows, Standshot is provided as it is, and liability for anything arising out of using it is limited to what you paid. Nothing here removes a right you have that cannot be signed away. These terms are governed by the law of the State of South Carolina, United States, which is where IberiaTech Solutions LLC is registered.
